Physiotherapists are regulated health care professionals under the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Physiotherapists provide assessments and rehabilitation and preventative treatments. They maintain health for people of all ages. A physiotherapist’s purpose is to increase a person’s quality of life by using a variety of treatments to alleviate pain, restore function, or in the case of permanent injury or disease, to lessen the effects of any dysfunction.

No, you have the ability to self-refer. However, your extended health benefits plan may require a referral to cover the costs of the appointment.

Upon your first visit with us, we will take the time that it takes to conduct a full assessment of your condition. This assessment will include collecting subjective information, as well as performing a physical assessment in order to determine the proper course of treatment.

The course of treatment varies between people and between injuries/conditions depending on the severity and nature of the condition present. Communication and transparency are important to us to ensure that you are comfortable with the treatment you are receiving and that we provide the best individualized care. If you have any questions, ask your physiotherapist about your treatment plan.

You can expect your first assessment to take about 1 hour and follow-up appointments to take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on your treatment plan.

Physiotherapy is often covered through extended health benefits. Contact your insurance company  to see if you qualify for coverage. We also provide services through the WSIB (Workplace Safety Insurance Board) for those who are injured at work. For those who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA), your vehicle insurance may cover your physiotherapy treatment. Also, if you are currently classified with a long term disability (LTD), there may be physiotherapy coverage included in your plan. Please advise the clinic if your appointments will be covered through WSIB, MVA, or LTD insurance when booking your first assessment.

There are a few practitioners that may be involved in your care including, but not limited to, a physiotherapist, a kinesiologist, and a physiotherapy assistant.

Contact the corresponding insurance company and open a claim for the accident. Once you have receive all of your approved coverage information, contact our clinic to book your initial assessment and be sure to bring all of your insurance information with you. We’ll take it from there.

Absolutely! Make sure to work with your employer to complete the necessary forms and steps to open a WSIB claim for the injury to ensure you receive approved coverage for our physiotherapy services. Once you have been notified that your claim is open and approved for treatment, contact our clinic to book your initial assessment. Be sure to bring all the necessary documentation with you to our clinic for your first appointment. Our clinic will be diligent to communicate with WSIB throughout your course of treatment. Let’s get you back to work!
